The Heddon Greta community is mourning the peaceful passing of Tanya Gai McBlane, who died on 11 August 2026 at the age of 57. Her death has left her family, friends, and loved ones with a profound sense of loss as they remember a woman whose presence brought love, warmth, and treasured memories to those around her.
Tanya was the beloved wife of Brad McBlane and a loving mother to Shelby and Tori. She was also the much-loved daughter of Barry (deceased) and Margaret Johns. Her family was an important part of her life, and she will be deeply missed by those who shared her journey.
Tanya was a dear sister to Leanne (deceased) and Craig, as well as a loving sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. She was also a cherished member of the wider McBlane and Johns families, leaving behind a circle of relatives and friends who will carry her memory forward.
Those who knew Tanya will remember her with affection and gratitude. Her life was defined by the relationships she built and the love she shared with the people around her. Her passing leaves a void that words cannot easily express, but the memories created over the years will remain a source of comfort for those grieving her loss.
Family and friends have been warmly invited to attend Tanya’s Funeral Service at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Barton Street, Kurri Kurri, on Friday, 21 August 2026, at 2:30 p.m. Following the service, Tanya will be laid to rest with her late father, Barry.
In a special tribute reflecting Tanya’s personality and style, her family has requested that those attending the funeral include leopard print in their attire for Tanya.
The request offers a personal and meaningful way for family and friends to celebrate Tanya’s individuality while gathering to say their final goodbyes. Rather than simply focusing on the sadness of her passing, the farewell will provide an opportunity to celebrate the woman she was and the memories she leaves behind.
For Brad, Shelby, Tori, Margaret, Craig, and the entire McBlane and Johns families, the days ahead will undoubtedly be difficult. Losing someone so deeply connected to a family creates an absence that can never truly be replaced.
Yet Tanya’s memory will remain present through the people she loved, the family she cherished, and the countless moments shared throughout her 57 years.
May her family and friends find comfort in one another and in the memories they hold close.
Rest peacefully, Tanya Gai McBlane. Your life was treasured, your love will not be forgotten, and your memory will remain forever in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved you.
